In this article, I want to show you how to solve data corruption at 99.9% when downloading with internet download manager.
Internet
download manager, popularly known as IDM, is no doubt, one of the best
downloaders in the market; it has really good support and very regular update, but
the data corruption bug in Idm that affects one’s download at 99.9% is really
painful. Before preparing this post, I tried solving this data corruption using
some other methods, but they were a bit too complicated and were never a
guarantee to stopping this problem on Idm for good. Imagine, downloading a file
of over 1GB and just when you think you are finally through, guess what, Idm,
tells you data corruption at the usual 99.9%. Frustrating hmm? But you know
what, that is all in the past, because after going reading this tutorial, you’ll
be able to download with Idm and not have data corruption; now how does that
sound?
Idm speeds
up your downloads by splitting up your files into smaller parts and then rejoining
them after the download. While this is a good way to multiply download speeds,
it is also the source of its data corruption and the crux of problem.
I have been
using Idm for a while now. I have tried other well-known downloaders and found
out they also have really annoying data corruption though not exactly the same
with that of IDM, an example is Download Accelerator Plus a.k.a. DAP. From my trials
with all the downloaders I’ve used, Idm remains the best and my favorite.
Here is a
really simple tweak to solve the data corruption on idm.
First, open
your Idm, then go to options, under options, just click the connection tab;
change the default maximum connection to one (1), as , shown in my screenshot
below, and then click ok to save your settings.
That’s it. This way Idm will no longer give
data corruption error at 99.9%
